Betpickson is an independent editorial index of hotels. It exists to describe buildings in enough detail that a reader can tell whether a place would suit them, and it stops there. There is no booking engine, no price comparison, no star rating and no scoring system of any kind.

What is covered

Four categories, chosen because each one represents a genuinely distinct idea of what a hotel can be. Art hotels treat the collection and the architecture as the reason to stay. Capsule hotels reduce the private room to its minimum and move everything else into shared space. Casino hotels are full-service properties that contain a gaming floor among their facilities. Ice hotels are built from snow, used for a season and allowed to melt.

How entries are written

Every entry is written from scratch as prose. The facts used are general and durable — location, structure, layout, the kind of guest a property attracts — rather than the sort of detail that changes between seasons. Nothing is presented as a review, and no guest opinions are invented or reproduced.

What this site is not

It is not a travel agency, a booking agent or an affiliate storefront, and it does not take a position on gambling. Where a casino hotel is described, it is described as a hotel: the gaming floor is noted as one facility of the property and nothing more. Rates, seasons and facilities change; the hotel itself is always the authority on its own operation.
